About 11% of the UK population moves home every year – with a population boasting over 62,641,000 – that’s a lot of people moving house! After reading quite a few studies and some in-depth research, it would seem York is the place us Brits would most like to live – and the historic city also came top of the list for the most beautiful cities in the UK. Bath was close in second place, followed by Brighton and Hove, Edinburgh and Truro in Cornwall, although it would still seem that over 70% of us would prefer not to leave the region we live in, but would instead simply like to move to another town in the same area!
It was also interesting to learn that if we do move, we are far more likely to choose the countryside, almost 50% of us, with 30% choosing to live near the beach and just 20% opting for city living!
..and did you know, over 5 million British Citizens have moved overseas and four thousand more departing each week! The most popular countries being Australia, Canada, Spain, France, New Zealand and the States.
